Default quadracer tight axel bearing

I just swapped out the rear axel bearings on my 88 quadracer, the old ones were shot.
Now that they are in, and they went together easy enough, they seem way too tight.

Although I have not yet put the tires on, it just seems very difficult to spin the axel.
Im thinking that either : they need some roating mass to spin more freely, or somehow there just too snug.

Any thoughts, ideas?

did you put the spacer back in? goes between the bearings.

were the bearings seated all the way in the housing?

if the axle is too tight and you run it, the bearings could heat up and wear out very fast. it happened on my 85 200x. i didn't have a bearing seated all the way, and blew one bearing. it puts too much strain on them.
