my friend has a raptor 700 with a programmer, yosh full exhaust system, and pro flo intake. I have an lt-r 450 with a programmer, full yosh exhaust, and a pro flow intake. In a drag race on dry pavement my ltr pulls on him out of the hole but when he hits 3rd gear he gets about 2 bike lengths on me and it stays at that until out bike are completely topped out in 5th gear, so the top speed is almost identical. I feel the better all around bike would be the raptor mainly because it is way better in trails, the ltr is too wide and i clip a lot of trees and the gearing isn't very good fo tight trails. the raptor also has a lot more ground clearance and reverse. I usually slide over a lot of stuff that the raptor doesn't hit. Anywhere besides the trails i like the ltr better because of how well it handles. the raptor feels kinda sloppy. But i love my LTR.

 

I would say unless you are racing every weekend, the Raptor is the way to go ...... If you want better handling get the limited edition Raptor with the upgraded suspension......

The 450s seem to be pretty high maintenance for the average trail rider......

Stock vs stock the raptor will outrun the 450. I didn't really like the handling of the raptor but I think the front tire pressure was a little too low, sure jumps good.
