Default 06 King Quad 700 odometer ERR

I brought my 06 King Quad 700 out of cold storage (five months Alaska weather) and of course the battery was dead. The Quad started and ran fine with only two pulls on the rope. The problem I have is the odometer displays ERR and so does the hour meter. I recharged the battery and it reads 12.46 volts but I still have a ERR message. Has anybody seen this? The dealer thinks the the speedometer is bad...

Default ERR message

I had the same issue with my 07 kq, except i got the err message after i used my truck to jump my quad. I tried to use the pull start, tried about 20 times, did not work so i jumped it with my truck. I guess when you do that the quad shows an overvoltage and you get the message. havent quite figured out how to get rid of the message. i will look into it

I think its just a matter of resetting the codes. You can either get a tool from Suzuki to activate dealer mode. Or you can use a wire to jump the connections to do it yourself(don't hit the wrong ones) once you get into dealer mode it will tell you the codes on the dash. Scroll through and clear them, unplug device or remove wire to return to normal.

I forget the details- but I had to reset my KQ 700's ecm after working on the TPS- if you research online- you'll find a method where you can use a paperclip to jump two pins and get into the "dealer mode" then you can clear the codes.
