I have a 93 king quad 300 4x4. I recently replaced the starter, a new battery, and a new starter gear. It started fine for a few weeks after I got it back but now when I try to start it it just clicks. I have charged the battery (which is new) and it still just clicks when the starter button is pushed. When I try to pull start it the starter is staying engaged and it will cause the green neutral light to light up during cranking but it never even starts with the pull starter (occassionally when pull starting the starter will dissengage but usually ends up getting stuck again). Just yesterday I recharged the battery and put it back in and the green neutral light came on and the headlights came on, but when I tried to start it with the push start it clicked a few times and then the battery went dead again. Jumping it off with another battery produces the same results, and it does not fire with roll starting in gear. I have also tried several other batteries. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also sometimes when the start button is pushed nothing happens. (even with green light on, and in neutral).

 

take the starter out and have it tested ,even brand new doesn't guarentee a working starter

 

it could be a sh1ty battery and solenoid combination.

 

I had the starter tested and everything came back ok. Could it be the solenoid? why is it draining the battery?

 

the clicking is from the solenoi, it clicks because the battery is low, but if it drains the battery also then the solenoid might be bad?

i had a problem like this in both my old quad and my lawn tractor.
