Hi. I bought an '85/86 Suzuki LTF230G. I rebuilt the carb with a kit from the dealer, changed all the fluids and filters and have run 2 tanks of gas through it. The problems are that no matter how I adjust the carb or the needle it idles too low to run by itself (it shuts off when my thumb is off the accelerator), then it runs just fine through all gears on a nice flat street but will cut out (run poorly) for 5 seconds when I hit bumps in the dirt. Any suggestions???????

check the float level, for it cuting out while hitting the bumps. See if it helps.

 

Yeah, I called a mechanic today and he said the same thing for the float level. He also said tat the poor idle might be from a kinked breather hose. I'll tear it apart tomorrow to adjust it and hopefully that should fix it! Thanks!!! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
