Powdercoating, chrome, reg paint but it will chip off or get new rims...Out of them I would have to say get new rims because you will pay too much for the powdercoating and chrome...Unless you can try polishing the rims up and see if you can get the gold finish off and then clean it up and spray clear coat on them.

i think those rims are steel, search ebay for a set of aluminum wheels, i believe they came on 87+, or you can get new rims.

What do you mean, do you want to clean them up?? Just sand or clean them with a wire brush and spray them with black or aluminum Tremclad rust paint. No need for primer and apply a dozen light sprays to get a nice finish. I assume you are looking for a very cheap alternative or you would have just went and bought new rims, right? Hope this helps. Just take your time, make sure the rims are clean and sanded VERY well, and you will have a pro looking job. By sanding well you should avoid the paint coming off. And if you damage the finish while riding, just sand and spray again. No big amount of cash. Look at my pics of my Eiger, I have those wheels done the same way and even up close they look new and "factory". I've had people ask where I bought them.

I just looked at your pics, and I gotta say that you did a great job on that quad of yours. NICE looking machine. Keep up the good work. Nice to see a bike took and restored to look new again. I also think after seeing your pics that BLACK glossy rims will look wicked on your bike.
