86 lt250r help - clutch problem????
#1
I have an suzuki lt250 1986 that does not move as fast as it should. When I give it gas, the engines revs, and the tires go, but not like they should. If it were a car w/ automatice transmission, it feels like the transmission is slipping. That's about the easiest example I can give.
The motor runs fine, I just can't get the tires to "burnout" and forget doing a wheelie.
Any ideas??

Its either your clutch springs, doubtful, or your clutch fibers, probable. Dont just change your fibers, change all of the clutch components, fibers plates and springs. If you dont have many mods done, just buy a cheap set from EBC or something like that, should not run more than 60 bucks.
And remember while you are in there to check for grooves on the clutch basket. If there are, just take it off and file down untill smooth. You can get away with that once or twice before you need a new basket

Nope. Just get yourself a complete kit..... metals, fibers, & springs.
I agree on the filing any pits/ridges on the basket "ears". I have done this on MANY bikes & quads. A little time & elbow grease sure beats a $200+ new basket.
