Suzuki LT80 - 1996
#1
Anyone got any ideas?
I have just got hold of an LT80 and having charged the battery, pressed in the electrical cutout switch, checked the brake inhibitor, checked fuses etc...
The starter will click but not turn the engine over.
Is there a way of spinning the crank by hand? If so, where do I get access to it? I am waiting for my CD manual to arrive and have itchy fingers.
I am fairly competent at most things bikewise, but with all the plastc and covers, I would like to know if there is a way of either turning it over using the fan on the right side, or maybe accessing it via the clutch. Either way involves a bit of a strip, but any advice would be well received.
The bike is in pretty good condition considering its year and has been looked after. The relay is clicking OK, and the starter button activates it, but I think the battery is past its best, so am using another battery to aid it. The inhibitor switch on the brake is also known to be OK, so am guessing that as it has been standing a while, that the engine is either a little reluctant to spin over, or the starter is U/S.
Over to you......
