SUZUKI LT 80

Depalma,
As a long time owner of an LT80, I can tell you it is a fun, reliable little machine, easy to modify for more speed/power. You didn't say how big your brother was,but at 12, he might find the LT80 a little cramped. Honda Trx 90 is bigger, but he would outgrow that quickly too. Suzuki makes a 160 that is sized right for mid sized riders, myself, I went bigger, my son rode an LT80 from 4 1/2 to 10, then I bought a Honda Recon 250, he is tall and big for his age, so he can ride this for years before outgrowing it. If your brother can run a clutch, a Blaster can be had very cheap, has a throttle limiter to keep the speed in check until he masters it, and can be modded out later to go faster/handle better.
Just my 2 cents.

I got my first quad when I was 11. I realy wanted the LT 80 but at the time but my Dad bought me an LT160 instead. I was pretty dissapointed becase it had a foot shifter and I wanted an automatic. I have to say though with no prior expirence and a week on the 160 I grew to love it. There is a screw that can set the thumb throttle back for as much acelaration/speed as you want for him to start off at. Seeing as he is 12 he will outgrow the LT80 or honda 90 in about a year in my oppion.Im 20 now and still to this day the LT160 gives me no problems in fact I still ride it when my 250r breaks or if I just feel like cruising around the trails. I think the 160 would definatly be the way to go!
I own 3 quads
an LT80 (my sisters)
