was riding down the road this evening and out of no where my bike completely died and when i hit the gas it kinda sputtered then a back fire or 2 or 10 and sputtered a little more then leveled right off and ran fine? what could it be?

 

My guess would be crap made it to the carb.

 

It sounds like some water or trash in the gas. It is a good idea to put an inline fuel filter on. It doesn't take much water to make the engine pop&spit.

 

Check out the main jet. Next time use the Choke to get you home.
