Here is the sequence for trouble shooting for no spark
There are test that can be performed on each - suggest to get a shop manual.

Problem: Spark absent or weak
Condition Remedy
1. Ignition coil defective 1. Replace ignition coil
2. Spark plug defective 2. Replace plug
3. Magneto defective 3. Replace magneto
4. CDI unit defective 4. Replace CDI unit
5. Pick-up coil defective 5. Replace pick-up coil

Well, let me rephrase that.
I pulled the motor and trans to replace the rings, so I put it all back together and no spark.
I relaced the plug, wire and coil. I checked all me wires and plugs with my meter.
So now I'm wondering if the is a way to test the cdi mod. before I drop $350 on a new one just to find out that I don't need it.
Thanks
