The clutch cover plate is stamped " 500ML" and there is a plug just above this which would lead me to belive that there should be some oil in it. The owner says he has had it for four years and nerver put any oil. When I removed the cover there was no oil. Also the bushing in the primary gear for the centrifigul clutch is starting to gall onto the inside of the gear. Is the oil pumped up from the crank case via the crankshaft or from some other means. I know it comes from an orfice in the crank shaft but I don't know how it gets there.

It's a 2-cycle but it does have oil injection. That plug may be for the oil injection tank - capacity 500 ml. If he's been premixing all this time then it wouldn't need any oil added there to work. Not sure if there's any other internal lube - simple single-speed transmission.

you should also notice a fill level plug about the middle to bottom of that same side of the engine. I seem to recall mine was a small, Phillips style screw. Remove the fill plug AND the oil level plug. If oil drips out the LEVEL hole, you have the correct amount of oil. If not, add oil until it comes out. If you've been running it with no oil, I'm amazed it's not done. It is a transmission case oil for the wet clutch. I believe it uses 10W40 motorcycle oil.
you mentioned you pulled the drain plug. if nothing came out, I'm shocked. I ran mine dry once, when my case was cracked and it was pouring out. i caught it the same day, but i think my son still put on lots of miles that day.
