I have an 04 Z400/kxf400. it cuts out at high rpms it runs fine at idle and just cruising but when you get on it it dies or cuts out. i have put new plug in it and a new stator and cdi box. any other suggestions?

 

If your cutting out at high rpms, you probably need to re-jet the main jet. Have you performed any mods to the bike?

 

high end sounds like plugged main jet. clean the carb.

 

Sounds like a jetting issue...

 

i gutted the factory pipe. other than that is is stock. the carb has been cleaned. it was running fine till i took it apart to paint the frame. i left the back end lifted in the air over night and when i put it bak together. thats when it started.

 

Yea, you need to re-jet the main to a larger size.
