I've got an 05 Eiger auto and love it! I've run mine thru pasture land with about 14 inches of snow with stock tires and in 2 WD with no problems. The first time I used the plow (50" American Manfc.) with a foot of wet snow, I plowed most of my back yard and finally got it stuck in a drift. It was at that point that I realized it was only in 2WD!!

When I slipped it into 4WD, she crawled right out with no effort. I've gone in snow and mud as well as up in the mountains of Pa. and Virginia and the Eiger just goes thru like a tank. Low range (forward) is even more awesome. I'm 5'x10" and weigh about 185lbs but this quad moves real good. I've read threads by guys alot heavier than me and they've said the same.

Yep, there are bigger and better machines out there but as far as bounce for the buck, my Zuke is just great!

Heya Rols- how's it going? Yeah- I'm lookin' for a CVT precisely because ya loose all the momentum in anything above 6" snow when whifting gears. I've got some killer pics of the last big snowfall out on my dads Lakota, it was a blast..............

One more Q for y'all- can ya fit an Eiger into the back of a pickup- short bet/ 61/2' and close the tail gate? They say that the KQ 400 will be 4" shorter..............
Thanks

My old Tundra had a 74" bed (just under your 6.5) and the gate would not quite close. Since yours is a few inches longer you might get lucky but I wouldn't think so. Think of it this way, people are less likely to tailgate when they think an ATV might wind up on their hood!

I have an '02 Eiger in manual tranny. I put Ramsey winch on it and a 48" plow.
I've plowed anywhere from a skiff of snow to 8-10 inches without any problems at all. I've got a 125 foot driveway and a large area in front of my shop. Also plow out two of my neighbors driveways it is so much fun. Needs to be in 4 wheel drive of course. I just love my Eiger. If I got a new one would probably get an auto though. Good luck and have fun.

Definately gonna go with a CVT because ya loose all the momentum in the snow. Hope the dealer has a KQ400 when I go check out his inventory...........

just bought my first atv..found a dealer had good prices on eigers..but when i got there found that he had king quad 450s for 5199.00 out the door just had to pay sales tax on top of that price.

beware dealers with all those fees doc set up and freight what a joke!
dealer near me wanted 5500.00 + 150 doc +450 freight and set up ...and we havent even gotten to sales tax yet..lol yeah sure .

i was more than happy driving 50 miles to buy from a real dealer straight up prices no shell games with numbers.

Loving my kq 450 !

Yeah- I hear that. To be honest with ya, the yamaha dealer seemed more willing to deal and bend, maybe because he had 3 '07 Grizz 450's still(Nov 19). The Kawasaki/ Suzuki Dealer hadda Camo '07 Eiger that he wanted around $5400, granted it had a winch. He didn't seem like that interested in dealing, but- he hadda '07 KQ700 he was leting go for $6549- I'm starting to really like the KQ700 not only for it's having fuel injection and everything else, literally, but it also has sway bars and acts alot like a sport quat. I didn't try to deal on any of thewe as it was an exploration foray, But I think I could dicker..............

yeah king quad 700 is awesome machine.but for my first atv 450 kq has more than enough power for me. Fuel injection gives it instant throttle response acts like sport quad to..fun to gas it sideways . suzuki did great job with these quads. and the sealed wet brake in back is way cool .

6549.00 for the 700 is out the door with tax and all ?
dealer where i bought my kq had 07 700s for 6099.00 just add tax.
i like this dealer dont have to dicker gives straight up prices all i had to say was...."ill take it". lol
definetly a first for me didnt have to complain about those idiot fees.
when i saw the red 450 it had my name on it ..hehe.
you cant go wrong with 450 or 700 both great machines.
i just hope that was out the door price for 6549.00.
good luck and let us know what you get. im going riding !
