hey folks i put a FMF Powerline pipe on my bike plus the dyno-jet kit.I also have a twin-air filter.Anyway it seems to back-fire a little bit,not much, just wondering if that is normal for this set-up.It seems to idle ok,although it did stall a couple of times just sitting there, but otherwise it seems pretty crisp.I followed dyn-jets directions exactly.(for under 5000 ft. like it says). You don't think i need to change the pilot do you?I did 3 turns on the air fuel mixture like it said also. And i had to use the choke a couple of times to start it when it was warm.Other than that i did make a nice improvment in power, and accelleration.I really noticable difference!Worth the effort.Ok any help is appriecated, thanks again cyber friends.

Changing the pilot jet will help alot. I don't remember what I put in mine, but went up a couple of sizes. If it is backfiring on decel then turn your mixture screw in 1/2 a turn at a time untill it clears up. Mine was also more cold blooded after the powerline was installed.

hey dazeys thanks for the help.On another post it said bump up to #38 pilot.I don't know the stock pilot,i did'nt look when i was in there.I do notice my problem is sluggish off the start and it will stall after it is idiling a bit.Turned in the mix screw and it helped a bit but were not there yet.The pilot is what starts you off right?Because it rips in once you are going which tells me that is coming from the main jet right? When i'm sitting there getting ready to go,and start the throttle you can feel it break-up,then it goes.It sound like the pilot. If you get time kindly let me know if i'm right or wrong.Ok thanks again for your help.

Yes #38 is what I put in mine, but I've been thinking of going to a #40 or #42. My buddy has a Vinny also and is running a HMF pipe a 148 main and a 42 pilot. His is a bit more snappy than mine.

I tried the # 40 in mine and it was too big for sea level, only allowed me to turn the mixture screw out 3/4 of a turn. I am running the # 38 and 1 1/2 out on the mix. screw. You guys might want to try the slide mod, drilling the equalization port to 1/8". That will make it respond a little faster off the start.
