Default Recently acquired 86' LT230S help!!

Ok, here is a chart http://www.thumpertalk.com/for...dex.php/t-494496.html

I'm running .058 now which is 1.47mm. From that chart I would either be using a 129 mikuni jet or 138 mikuni... Neither one makes sense because 180 is stock and I drilled much bigger than that. Like I said before, these charts dont make sense. Unless mikuni has a few different jet sizes. If you have a better chart, please let me in on it.

I can start up without touching the throttle, with it idling. Now, when it is idling I jab the throttle it will try to lift the front wheels and take right off. It runs really good! And I dont really care if it runs rich, but its too hard to start once its warm like that. And taking it to the mountains makes it even worse. If I had electric start I wouldn't even change the jets from here.

I have 13/39 gears now with 22 inch tires and I can lean as far forward as I can standing up even and it will still pull that front end up... If I rev it out n dump the clutch it will dump me off the back! I dont want much more power, I spend all my time on the brakes as it is to keep from hitting trees, I just want it to start on 1 kick (3 at the most).

Trust me, that needle I'm using is close to the best. It may be a couple sizes rich, but it is very close. The stock needle is crap imo.

Yeah, those are the #'s I have. I think the 337 for the exhaust is wrong. The stage 3 webcam is only 288. 337 is way way way way too high. It cant be right.

Curious how drilling out the jets worked for you? When single and had street/strip cars I found out that simply drilling out the jets to the correct listed diameter never seemed to work quite right. Im not sure why and hot rod friends had told me it didnt work very well but had to find out for myself. I finally bought a box of various size jets and had no more problems. Sounds like your drilling worked ok though. Any special trick you did to drill them out?

Well, the jets are actually little venturis and when you drill them you drill away the funnel shape. It doesn't flow the same as a regular jet of the same size hole, but is a lot easier than running to the store to buy more jets. I just start lean and work up. It works, but doesn't cross reference to anything. So, suppose I drill mine to .054 and you look up a jet that has that size hole in it, it wont work. But it works for me. Check back in a few.... I have to look up a link that makes this a little more clear.
