Jeers to Suzuki
#1
Okay I just noticed this so maybe I'm late to the party but the new King Quad "750" is actually a 722. So the old King Quad "700" which was actually a 695 only went up 27 ccs which is probably not even noticeable when riding once an engine gets that big.
Why jeers for Suzuki?
Calling a 695 a 700 is pretty close so I wouldn't complain but calling a 722 a 750 is a stretch. A 722 is closer to a 700 than a 750, so the new King Quad should still be called a 700. And, no, it's not now a "750 class" machine. It's still a 700 class machine.
Yeah, I know that all of the quad makers do this (Polaris 800 actually a 760) but it's still lame. I mean why not just call the new King Quad an 800? 722 rounds off to 800 right?
Cheers to Honda for calling their new Rancher a 420 instead of a 450!

All of the factories do that, they always have for the most part ......
I think the KTM 525 is actually a 510 ....
And that new AC ThunderCat 1000 is like a 950 or something silly like that.....the new Wolverine is like 420cc but I think they call that a 450 too......
Suzuki could have stopped at 725 but I guess they like round numbers ......... Don't forget the Quad Sport 230, gotta give them cheers for that one then ...lol .....
Rancher 420, YZ490, Husky510 etc..... ..... there are rare for the most part in the industry ........
I agree they should call 'em what they are but what can you do.......??

The new Sportsman 400 is the other way around it is really a 455cc!
Honda was really bad at it, a 450 Foreman(433) 350 Rancher(329) 500 Foreman(475) .
Yamaha did it also, they have a 660 Grizzly they make a new 686 Grizzly and call it a 700!
I also do not get calling the KTM 510cc motor a 525? Its not even rounded of to a even number!

Honda has been doing that for decades. The 250 has always been a 229. Suzuki has been more dead on than Honda thru the yrs... At least they called their 229cc machine for what it was, a 230. And when Suzuki started making the 250 in 1989 it was actually a 246. I guess they finally figured if Honda could get away with it, maybe they should give it a try too.
