Default Biggest Bore Kit For Lt230?

Who has bored their 230s and how big?

How big do they make bore kits for the lt230? I am planning on boring mine in the near future and want to get the most out of it. Links to some kits would be nice.

Thanks

Get the crank re-worked as well. You are going to have a ton more compression.

Well, .080 is the biggest you can go with the stock sleeve. That works out to 243cc. Then there is a 260 kit and a 273 kit. The 273 kit is a lot of trouble from what I've heard. Mine's just a 243, but I regret not getting the 260 (its a long story).

Contact Vince at http://vincescycle.tripod.com/newparts/lt230s.html for info about reworking your crank and rod. He told me the rod bearings will stop rolling and start sliding at high rpms and there is something he can do to prevent that. It costs about $125 he said.

As far as obtaining the kit itself, they're all over the net.... Here's a couple I have no experience with:

Default Need help guys

I bought a quad sport 85 lt230s and motor was worked beyond belief the cam is a web race cam it's massive and it's got a la sleeve and the Piston is huge this thing is bored like .300 over it's bigger than a 300cc I know this because it's at my local atv motor shop for a rebuild and there awesome but figured I'd ask you guys what carb set up I should run for maximum power I'm not lying about the size of this piston kit it's insane

Update . The cam said it was done in 7/1985 it was scratched into it so this motor was worked a long time ago

Maybe start your own thread. This one is 7 years old and really has nothing to do with your question.
