Z400 rear disc brake squeaking
On my Z400, the rear brakes seem to be squeaking a lot and its so embarassing. I inspected the pads, and they have plenty of life, and they arent wearing funny. Also the disc is straight, and not bent. Can the parking brake be dragging and causing it to squeak? Someone said a parking brake block off plate can fix this? Just wondering what i need to do so the thing will shut up. Thanks.

Try this procedure:
1. Remove rear brake pads.
2. Lift rear end by putting a jack under the swingarm to raise tires of the ground.
3. Start and run the bike in gear.
Pay close attention to the brake rotor side to side clearance as it spins inside caliper.</end quote></div>
If your half blind like I am ,you can also sit a soda/beer can next to the rotor to verify rotor warpage.
