He also removed the airbox lid and installed an ignition map

 

the air box is under the seat? if it is then i get alot of mud down there so would that be a problem if i open it? can i have a link on how to take the spark arrestor out. i was a better rider then the yfz450 since ive been riding for years but now i have a quad for myself. so is something wrong with my quad because it only tops at 60? i thought it was right because the rear tires are smaller.

If someone put smaller tires than stock on it and didn't change the gearing, that might explain having a lower top speed. I dont know about that big of a difference though. Also, at least on the z400, there are alan wrench bolts on the end of the pipe that you can take out and you can pull the spark arrestor out with.

 

i didnt put smaller tires then stock, the stock tires are 18s. if i put on a pipe would that make the top speed any higher or does the top speed only depend on the gears? oh and whats a cherry bomb and what does it do and go?

 

not postive but a cherry bomb is a injection mod (sorry cant spell it) bypass. ive herd it gives a stock ltr450 like 6-7 hp or something like that. it just plugs in i think under the seat. very easy to install from what ive herd.

I agree with ya.. before i bought mine i was looking at a LTR and i read about the cherry bomb.. very good. product.. just one simple plug into the wiring harness is all you have to do.. should have gone with the TRX 450R tho[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img].. j/k you got a tough machine

 

whats the max rpms that the ltr450 does stock with the limiter and whats the max with the cherry bomb?

i cant recall that off of the top of my head it would be something i would have to look up.. there are pages and pages about that product out there tho.. should be easy to find

question? U asked is an lt 450 a good trail machine right? why r u so hell bent on top speed? If im in the woods, 99 percent of the time i never get passed 3rd. Just curious. if ur woried about some jagoff sayin he can beat u in a drag race then tell him to buck up and race u where quads r meant to b raced, on the dirt. lol
