Default LTR450 a good trail quad?

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: SuzukiRacer450

i got a new 2007 LTR450 and i wanna know if you guys think its a good quad for trails. im still breaking it in and it is still very fast at half throttle but it is very low and i hear it hit rocks when i go through little creeks and ride through some trails.</end quote></div>

I am also in the market for the same quad. but also the LTZ400

from what i noticed. the rear tires are smaller on the LTr than the LTZ. if you just went with larger rear tires on your LTR you should be ok,. oh and the LTZ comes with a rear sprocket protector.

Your top speed problem, you may think the engine is broken in. but it may not be.
give it more time. i had the same problem with my 2007 GSXR750, i did the break in just like the manual says to do. i noticed that i couldn't hit the rev limiter. it was 500 RPM short. about 500 miles after seeing i couldn't. it would go to the rev limter when needed. so give it more time.

Thumbs up Ltr450

I have a 06 ltr450 with a dmc full exaust, trinity efi, and k&n air filter with billet base plate..
i know that it will do around the 80's not sure exactally but surely over 80mph... Maby u should try unscrewing your screw on your throtle it might be restricted if your only doing 60 im positive i can do 60 in mid 4th... and yes the baffel out your pipe with a cherry bomb is a good way to start picking up power ull notice that the wheels want to pull harder threw higher gears.... cherrybomb is like a 2 minute instalation. and its just like 3 allen bolts on the end of your pipe first u have to remove your cap then ur baffel.... Just watch the parts u put on i have a friend with a 07 ltr with the same mods but with trinitry muffler fmf head pipe and efi with uni filter and on a dyno im pulling 4 more hp then him.... im at 42.8 hp without any motor work... cams will be next but i sure as hell can make 400ex stroked go home with their head between their legs... stretched and all and i ride motorcross not drag... as for trail riding not the best bike she gets warm fast i sugest engin ice and make sure the trail is wide enough ive made it over the bars a few times being hung up on trees that seem wider then what they are... shes race ready and not trail ready.... and the 18s are stock and geard for them if u put 20s ur bike would have no pull......

Default

DMC exhaust, yosh cherrybomb, UNI filter w/o lid, re-jet, 20" rear tires, re-gear, and PRM skidplates.

you will be VERY happy with that setup.

good luck!
