Default LTR450 a good trail quad?

i got a new 2007 LTR450 and i wanna know if you guys think its a good quad for trails. im still breaking it in and it is still very fast at half throttle but it is very low and i hear it hit rocks when i go through little creeks and ride through some trails.

I would say as long as it fits, that is to say as long as it isnt to wide, I'm sure it is a wonderful trail quad. I ride a ltz400 and it hits trails good. So, if can fit between the trees it's probably good. That probably doesn't have reverse though, huh? reverse is nice for in the woods but it isnt necessary.

it is wide, but small enough for my trails. and it doesnt have reverse which is the only thing i dont like about it. is there any aftermarket parts i can put under the quad like some type of sheetmetal gaurd. i think i seen someone with one before. im also getting a bigger front bumper. i was thinking about nurf-bars but i dont know yet. what do they do for the quad?

There are some skid plates for the bottom of it and you can find more of them on the internet.

as far as anything else, that is up to you. I probably wouldn't do too much to it if i wanted to ride it through trails. maybe nerf bars or a bigger bumper like you said. Some people like to flip the rear rims to make it less wide for trail riding.

If you are not ridding tight trails, the LTR is great. It has a lot of power and hauls butt around corners. Look at my signature for mods and you will be a happy camper.

well today i finally finished breaking it in and it topped out at 60mph. i thought it was suppose to go 75mph? i raced my friends stock old blaster and i killed it in acceleration but it catches up to me after about 1/4 mile and passes me. i was suprised that i beat a yfz450 like its nothing. i like all the power but i feel like i need more acceleration. what can i do to make it accelerate faster and have more top speed? i was thinking a pipe but what else and what kind. Dasa or yoshi better?

If you won't more acceleration gear it lower... I'm surprised you killed a YFZ... sure you weren't the better rider

try takin the spark arrestor out before u spend alot on a pipe. A friend of mine has an 06 and the dealer told him to take it out and he did and is well satsified. He s also a guy that loves pipes but so far he hasnt found the need to buy one yet. it sounds great and saves on an aftermarket pipe plus it gave it a little boost. I have a z400 and i know that 450 got more than 60mph in it.
