The heel guards are reinforced. Kirkwood didn't say anything about racing, so I see no need for the metal heel guards.

 

ya my brother was riding a few months ago and and got his front tire got caught and he went head over heels and ladned then the bike came after him and he put his legs and caught the nerf bars probally saved him lots of pain.
