27-12-12 & 27-10-12 shouldn't be a problem, we have 28" Outlaws on our KQ with no clutch kit and no problems

Bigger tires was something I first wanted to do with mine, but after considering everything that would be affected, and the cost, I decided to go with a better and little more aggressive tire than stock. My suggestion is no more than a 26 inch. Although the 450 may handle a larger tire ok, the wear and tear on the bike will certainly be greater. A clutch kit will help so you wont lose power. Remember, bike will be higher and so will your center of gravity. Larger tires weigh more, and you will be putting them on steel wheels, not aluminum. Suzuki designed the KQ to operate well within certain limitations. Just keep that in mind. Good Luck!!

after thinking about it myself i think im going to go with a 26 because i want a little extra ground clearence also but i might just use a 25 inch tire with a real agressive tread

Another suggestion............radial tires, more ground surface contact. Check out this link http://www.atvpt.com/productreviewindex.htm#86908269 You can even call the owner of this place.
