Thanks PoolGod230.Me and my buddies all have quadzillas and we raced a 250 tecateat little sahara and he smoked us all the way.I know he was on alcohol but I dont know what else he had done to his 250

 

According to my Clymer ATV maintenance manual 1974-1987 the 250 and 500 both weighed 293lbs dry. And in Vol 2, 1988-1992, the 500 weighed 293lbs dry and the 250 weighed 323 lbs dry. I dont know the exact yrs of the weight change, but I do know in 85-86 the 250 had a bore n stroke of 70x65 and in the later yrs it was 67x70. The 500 is 86x86 all yrs.

So, ironically, either they weighed the same or the 250 weighed 30lbs more. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] Probably because of a 6th gear addition.

LT250R is a very fun quad... With a few mods can be made pretty quick and they handle very well. $200.00 sounds like a good deal, if it's an '87 then it is a great deal!
