87 230S Help Please!!! with Pics!

Hey Randy, just wanted to say thanks for all the help. Turns out it was the stator. When I replaced the cover I installed everything correctly, however, I didn't know that you had to thread lock the stator in place. It ended up loosing up and the magneto wheel thing caught the wire for the stator and turned it into a birds nest[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
I called suzuki and they wanted $270 for the part, but I ended up finding an aftermarket one they had for $140, should be in friday, and this time I will threadlock it in place and should be able to play with the boys on saturday after all!
A simple mistake cost me $140! Go figure[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Yep, there's a lot of "little" things like that to know when working on this quad. You'd never guess half the stuff without a manual. Best to either get a manual or ask around before doing even something "simple" to that quad.
Those screws backed out on a bud's quad not that long ago. The screw found its way to the cam chain and broke it!
