02 suzuki ozark WONT START!

Check the simple stuff first - make sure it's in neutral (light could be out) or try pulling in the rear brake lever harder. Check battery charge and clean contacts.

Fresh gas-drain tank & carb.
Clean carb.
Fresh battery.
New spark plug.
Pull plastics and check all wiring for signs of shorting. (Mice activity)-put bike in pitch dark room, engage starter, watch for sparks.
Check Fuses.
Check all safety switches-hand and foot-brake-starter for proper operation.
Check CDI
Remove stator cover and clean stator contacts.
Some things to check, in no particular order.

I don't know about the OZARK - but the KQ series has an on board clock that cannot be shut off and it is a constant drain on the battery.
My local dealer mentioned it the other day because of riders like yourself that leave a bike for months at a time and come back to a dead battery...
The only real solution for the KQ was to keep the battery on a slow trickle charger or you could pull the battery...either way it's worth thinking about.
