Going to look at one in the morning,(1987) what should I look for...He says it runs good, needs brakes though...


BTW---Where there different 230 models that year? This one has a rack on the back...If there were different models, did they have the same power?shocks?
He said the battery is dead but has (pull start) as back-up..They are kickstart I thought? Anyway he wants $450 for it....

 

Does it smoke?

In 1987 they had:

LT230E Quad Sport (Electric Start, Rear Shock)

LT230S Quad Sport (Kick Start, Rear Shock)

LTF230 (Racks, No Rear Suspension)

All the same engine.

I don't really know that much about the E as I do the S, but if it runs good and especially if it doesn't smoke... yeah, its worth $450! They have a lot of power for their size. Those engines are bad for smokin though... So don't be surprised.

 

put the back up on a bucket and try to move the rear axle around and see how much play it has because the bearings probaly need to be replaced

 

good deal i had a 87 s , super strong engine . $450 runs & drives good deal

 

Look like it has suspension from the picture I have seen...I have heard they a prone to smoking ...
