Hi, new to forum. Recently bought 07 400 eiger auto, was wondering of any known problems to watch for, and, how reliable they are. Also, how they are in a little mud. Thanks.

A little mud just makes them angry. I've had mine in mud up to the racks and it just churns right through.

You'll like the Eiger. Very peppy, easy reving engine. Decent power and speed. Fairly comfortable ride and light steering.

How are the eigers in the mud in reverse since there is no low range. I got stuck in snow in a ditch and in reverse it seemed a little lazy, but it has no miles on it so i was taking it easy on the quad. Just wondering what you think? Thanks again

Reverse is geared at 2.833:1. Compared to high range first gear at 3.083:1 and second gear at 1.933:1. It's a pretty low reverse ratio. Although I have been stuck in mud several times by getting high centered or just completely bogged down in soft muck, I've never had it fail me due to lack of power - either in forward or reverse. And I'm swinging Mud-Lites so there is some decent tread lugs to load it down.
