Default install winch 07 eiger

I am installing a winch on my 07 eiger that is pre-wired. Can someone tell me if I still need to use the solenoid that came with the winch? without taking all of the plastics off the quad, i cant follow the wires that are supposed to connect to the winch--also, they are yellow and blue....not sure which is hot and which is ground

I installed a winch on my pre-wired Polaris. It was very easy. I did take the front plastic off to access everything better. You will need A solenoid. Mine was supplied in the kit. I mounted it in it's pre-drilled location, mounted the winch and hooked up the wires as described in the wiring diagram. My Polaris had the switched hot wire connection under the headlight pod and the battery cables just below that. Entire install took about 1.5 hours with the bulk of that being getting the plastic on and off.

Good Luck!!

I guess the problem is with the battery cables....by instructions tell me to go from the battery to the solenoid and from the solenoid to the winch.....I am not sure exactly where the "prewired" wires would come into play

You should have pre-wired battery leads that are, in some way, already connected to the battery. These connect to the solenoid. Use the short wires that came with the winch to connect the sloenoid to the winch. Switched power should also be available up front (mine was a red wire with a female end). Also, if you have a handlebar switch, it just plugs into the solenoid also.

the prewired wires go from the front where the winch mounts at and run along the frame all the way to the back and come out above the storage box in the rear im not sure if that helps or not but thats where a few of my buddies have mounted their contactor
