srrying iam trying to talk and type.but like i was saying.the number i posted up is the only nimber i could find.but i was looking on the web sited that eather randy to poolgod posted and i was going thur the years with my cusin and he said eather a 87,88,89, or a 1990 and i clicked 89 and thier it was 250 quad sport.so its a 1989 lt 250 quad sport...and when i run the quad it takes like 3-5 minouts to get a good start of the quad.but will only run for 5 seconds max..i have air tighted the air box. the only outher thing i haven't checked is the timing..but i would think that if it starts and runs for 5 seconds it cant be it but ill check tomrow...my nabor said its not running because of the oil presser.but you guys said it should still start up and run...any help would be greatly appreciated

Its like you're not trying to spell. You put number and nimber in the same sentence. I don't mind helping, but this is giving me a headache trying to decipher your riddles.
I figured you had the 1989 because your rims are different from my bud's (he has the 1990).
I don't know why it wouldn't run with an oil leak. You could take ALL the oil out and it should still run... for a little while anyway. The oil leak has nothing to do with the way its running. Your carb may be too dirty, or the air filter may not be good enough,,, maybe the valves need adjusting. Its hard to tell from 1000 miles away.
Do you know how to check the valve lash? Do you know anyone that can check it (or even knows what I'm talking about)?

my nabor said somting about oil presser?.but i have seen a 50cc dirt bike that had a hafe inch hole right in next to the oil hole you put the oil in.and the guy ran it dry.so i dont think it has any thing to do with the oil presser..i have no ideal what valve lash is and iam not sure if my nabor knows how to adjusting the valves.he probly does.but.the person i got the quad from said check the timeing..could this be the problem?

There are 2 kinds of timing. Ignition timing and cam timing. The ignition timing is not adjustable. The cam timing is a chain that can stretch or get loose or even jump a tooth. Its possible for it to be off a tooth, but its more likely a worn intake valve from running it without an airfilter. You need to check the intake valve lash. That's the next step. You're not going to be able to check the cam timing without tearing the top of the engine off.

2-stroke don't have a cam. It don't have cam timing. And you have to make sure the piston is at the top and the line on the cam sprocket should be level with the head surface.
Better check the intake valve lash. Find somebody that can show you how or something. The cam timing can be off and it still run fine. Sometimes people make the timing off on purpose for more topend power or lowend power.
