While checking the air filter on my 85' LT230 I noticed that it has a really sticky substance all over it. It is as sticky as molasses. Did it come from the factory this way? I have never bought one before, so I don't know for sure

 

Yes it is from the factory like that. That is actually the oil on the filter that is sposed to keep out the dust that goes into the filter so if you change the filter you should buy some k&n filter oil.it is the same thing as whats on there
