Default dumb and dumber

So I'm changing the oil on my z400 and the Wife's Raptor......

I drain the z400 then slid over to drain the 350........ while I'm down there fighting with the STUPID Raptor350 drain bolt my wife comes up and asks if she can help. She's usually pretty handy ...

so I say.... "sure you can take out the oil filter on my quad."

Then I said "on the left side of the engine there is a small cover with 3 bolts, just take the bolts out and the cover should slide off - the filter is right behind the cover."

Sure it sounded good in my head....... only problem is the oil filter is on the RIGHT side of the engine...... so naturally she removed the only cover on the LEFT side of the engine....the starter gear cover...... and of course that one does not come off easy to I went over to help and before I realized what I was doing I had popped it all the way off...... DOH!

Of course this is not a big deal..... but you cannot simply reuse the gasket/O-ring on the cover (I tried anyway lol) so now I have to call Suzuki and order one and probably screwed up my riding this weekend because I'm sure no one will have it in stock......

Sometimes I'm so stupid I amaze myself.......

LOL yeah maybe......... it was my fault..... I was thinking "right" in my head but I said "left" side.....

I'm guessing since there were some starter issues with the z400 there was a time when they needed them in stock.... at least that is how it used to work when I worked in the parts department at a Ford dealer.....
