Help on oil and lights
I have a 89 Suzuki LT-F4WDX 250. I just bought it and doing some maintenance on it and had a few questions on oil
Now im going to use this in the winter for hunting so im going to put in 5W30.
I do not no if the owner befor me bought it at a dealer or just any stores... So would it hurt it to just got to walmart and buy 5w30 or should i go to a suzuki dealer and get that oil?
The other thing is im going to change the differential gear oil. What kind should i get? the owners manual says somthing about SAE90 or SAE80 witch one?
one other thing im wanting to add a set of lights to the front is there any where to get a good bright set of lights??? the stock ones are not that bright!

If you have the manual it should tell you which oil to put in it. Do what the manual says--it will be better info than what someone here can suggest for a 19 year old machine.
While the Walmart 5W-30 oil would probably work, it may not be the BEST choice for your machine. Read your manual.

Help on oil and lights
AMSOIL Recommendations :
For a 1989 Suzuki LT4WD:
For the engine we recommend our Formula 4-Stroke PowerSports 0W-40 (Product Code: AFF) and where it is calling for a gear lube we recommend the Universal Synthetic Marine Gear Lube SAE 75W/80W-90 (AGM).
Thank You,

Help on oil and lights
I still have the owners manuals on 2 Suzukis my cousin bought new , 1 is for the 1989 Suzuki LT4WD 250 QuadRunner 4x4 and the other is for a 1993 Suzuki LT4WD 300 King Quad ; both manuals call for 10w40 for the Engine/Tranny crankcase oil !
The Differencial gear oil calls for SAE 80w 90w Hypoid gear oil , my cousin used Castrol GTX 20w50 year round on both quads ; it depends on where you live we live in North West Ga so it depends on how cold the wearther gets where you live !
I bought the 93' 300 KQ from my cousins youngest brother after he passed away in late 99' , and i used Castrol 10w40 in winter and 20w50 in summer ; i sold the KQ to my youngest brother a week after i bought a 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto on Feb. 7th 2006 and i use the same oil for the 376cc Suzuki Engine that powers the Cat !
The 93' Suzuki LT4WD 300 KQ is still going strong for my brother , and the 1989 Suzuki LT4WD 250 QuadRunner is still going strong for my late cousins Nefnew ; just use the regular Castrol oil stay away from any engine oil that carries the Energy saving seal on the bottle as they can cause clutch slippage on any Quad with the wwt sump !........
