i just installed hmf exhaust on my eiger it sputters when get into water or mud for about 5 seconds then runs fine thru the water and mud but does it of and on. everything has dio grease on it and have not been deep enough for it to get into my intake. any ideas out there

 

when you installed the exhaust did you rejet the carb? if not you need to

 

yes, i had the jet installed when hmf was put on. it only does it when abt 3/4 throttle. i can pin the throttle every where else and it does not sputter

 

Is it a full pipe or slip on. If full, is the connection at the motor water tight like the stock pipe was. If a slip on, is that connection at stock pipe water tight?

 

it is a slip on. but if it were a little loose wouldnt my oil be milky from the water that is getting in from the loose connection. i checked my oil and it is super clean

 

no just that little quick shot or water that gives you that little sputter could evaporate and be pumped with the burnt air right out the back as steam because the motor is so hot . jmo but if you put you hand over the pipe alittle ( use a leather glove very hot lol) does it still sputter at 3/4 ? i think you might have a jet issue when you put the jets in did you have a adjustable needle and did you do it your self and know that needle is set in the right notch? i thing that may e you problem cause the water adds that lite extra back pressure and it might kinda like throw it all of for a min
