your quadsport sounds like a lt230g? because it has electric start and sounds more like a utility quad. The best advice that I have taken was to spend the thirty bucks at a suzuki dealership an buy a service manual for the thing.
I bought my carb off ebay an have kinda the same problem as you do with yours, except I can idle mine a little higher an I think hat may be where my prob is.
either way I got a mechanic lookin at it by sat.

v.i.n. # is on the shifter side of the quat on the front frame, you may have to remove the front plastics to see it.

Well small update. Cleaned the carb up and then shocked it with high dose of carb cleaner to low fuel mix. Started playing with the carb setting as it was idling on the choke.
It finally got to the point where I could hit the throttle and push the choke all the way in without killing it. Then it got to the point where I could really rev it with no choke. I get on it and get right about 100 yds from my garage and it died. Push it back to the garage and fiddle some more. Get it going again without choke and do a circle around the driveway and it quit again right at the garage door.
Wore out and had a rough day so that's enough for tonight. My wife had a blowout today, scared her but she's OK. I couldn't reach my brother so I had to leave the office and drive 40 miles to change her tire and 40 back. I don't know what machine put those lugs on, but I'd hate to get in a fight with it, my gosh they were tight.

took the 230 to the atv park today, it ran great, the motor purred like a kitten or should I say screamed in a deafening way.
I think the clutch may have been slipping a little when I got on it, or maybe I was getting on it to hard in to high of a gear .
got it home and had to take the top of the motor off because it was leaking and my deconpression shaft came out.
so I used black rtv silicone as a gasket maker when I put it back together, I hope it holds.
I also adjusted the clutch a bit, so I hope my next ride tomorrow has the last of my kinks worked out.
other than that the zuki handled great, had great acceleration, and was an all around fun to ride little quad.

I wish I had mine running right. Almost 2 miles of uphill logging road to get to my hunting spot this morning with a rifle and ground blind on my back. I was wore out before I started.
Congrats on getting yours going.
I'm gonna try a tad more and then take it to a pro. ATVs are too expensive to not try hard on a freebie.

thanx guys,
well black rtv silicone aint worth a s@#t.
guess I'll have to go to the dealer to get a valve cover gasket, I need a new exhaust gasket anyway.
Does anyone know if I can repack the muffler that the previous owner had gutted?
Despite the minor issues, I had a pretty good day of riding today.
the old zuki, she kept right up with my father in laws foreman 500.
I'll just keep tinkerin til I get her just right.
