Check to make sure that your fuel valve is not set on prime (PRI). Most Suzuki's don't have an off position on their fuel valves, just a run, prime and reserve setting. Also, it's King Quad, not Quad King.

That's what I was talking about, yes. Double check that valve - It's been a few years since I had a KQ, but like I said above - Most Susuki ATV's don't have an 'OFF' position. If it's left in the PRI setting it can flood.

Other than that it just about has to be in the carb, even though it sounds like you've got everything covered there.

Do you have a fuel tank vent hose coming off of your fuel cap? Sometimes, if it gets clogged either at the cap or in the hose then with weather change (just like gas in a plastic container) it expands and causes too much pressure sending gas right through the filter and pump into the carb. Funny though, I have to flood mine to start, quite the opposite problem I guess. Good luck!!

Question

I got a question for anyone who can help. I just got a 1994 king quad LT-F4WD yesterday and I have to hold my hand over the intake on the carburetor to make it idle. What could cause that? I also have another question I have 2 lines that come off the carburetor and go up near the neck of the fuel tank. One is broke off and the other looks like it was on something. What could those be for?

Assuming your float setting is correct, check to see if it has a fuel pump.....left side, sitting on ATV...under the front fender ( left ). If so ( fuel pump ), the diaphragm has ruptured allowing fuel to transfer from the "vacuum" feed ( operates the fuel pump ) into the carb.....flooding/rich condition. Also, add a fuel filter....

It does have the (fuel pump). I'm going to take the carburetor off and go through it and set it to factory then adjust accordingly. What about the 2 vacuum lines up by the tank? What is supposed to be there?
