91 quadrunner inside rear U-Joint
#1
My friend and I were working on his 91 quadrunner lt fwd and discovered that one of the inside rear U-Joints was shot. Thinking that we would only need a new U-Joint at a cost of no more than 20 or so bucks (Cdn), we took a trip to the local Suzuki dealer. We were shocked to find that the U-Joint cannot be simply replaced and that in fact the whole assembly needs to be replaced at a cost of about $170 (again Cdn). Also, I can't seem to find any aftermarket parts that might be cheaper than the dealer parts.
So my question is... Has anyone found some alternative to replacing this whole assembly? Does anyone know of an aftermarket version of this part? or perhaps a part from a different quad that will fit?
The specific part number I'm talking about is 27501-19B10
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately the shaft is the only way that I found. The yolk is penned from the factory, you would need a dremel tool and then bring the u-joint to a local auto parts store for them to measure and duplicate. That might be an option. I work for a suzuki dealer and thats what happens, the shaft gets replaced and it is pricey. I have not found any aftermarket catalogs that sell just the joint, good luck
