86 quadracer hard start(i mean real hard)
I just traded somone a ATC 250R for this 86 LT250R. It's supposed to have a new top end. problems it does have.
wrong kicker, so i smack the brake pedal and rack my ankle half the time!
pin hole in bottom of minuki TM34mm cab(its in the drain plug and has been filled in but it still weeps.
busted case on sproket side, has a dine size hole that was JB welded and has been holding.
theres also something missing just above and behind the front sprocket on the case. has a rubber grommet in the case but no cover
problems i'm having is trying to kick it when its cold sucks bad. once its warm it will kick over in about 3 kicks. carb seems to have issues. It had a 260 main and a 45 pilot. stock said 240 main 37.5 pilot. changed them and that was when i actually got it to kick over with out pulling it.
I'm used to Keihin carbs and want to know what everyone recommends as far as size if i switch them out. any disadvantages to swapping the minuki out?
the bike seems like it will be alot of fun once its dependable, but I'm already walking funny from kick'in that B**ch so much!

well my local shop did a look over and got it started, he says the reeds are bad. with no airfilter and under throttle it spits gas out the back of the carb. he said put a dribble of gas in spark plug hole and give it a kick and it will start. he's right, it did kick right over. so I ordered some power reeds and a gasket kit as there internal. anyone ever changed reeds that requires the head be removed? easy or a pain? going to the inlaws for a week and taking it with so i have something to do while there. any tips or things to watch out for? anyone got the 85-86 manual? i only have the 87-92 manual and they use the reed cage.
