Default Everything you know about the lt230

My friend and I have come across a free suzuki atv that isnt working. It says on the side of the engine "229cm3" and I'm assuming that this is an lt230. I have no idea what year it is but it looks like any of the other 85-93 models (or whatever years they were made). Before we start to try and get it fixed I was wondering if you could give me some specs on this atv. Like hp, weight, top speed and pretty much anything else you can think of. any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Do you know which 230 you have? Is it the 230S? If its the 230S, it will look similar to the one in my pictures. If that's it, I've got the manual to give you all the specs you need, plus there's a whole 250 or so page thread dedicated to them.

It is chain chain driven so I do believe it is the 230S. I would really appreciate that manual and I will check that thread out. Thanks a lot.

atvman29: Thanks a lot!! That is most of the info I was looking for right there.
zz8t: It does have a kick start. Not sure about the color because the last owner painted over everything. I think it was red and blue though.

I may need to start a new thread but does anyone know where to get a new complete shift assembly for this quad. The shifter shaft and the part of the shifter that goes onto it is stripped. I was able to find a new shift shaft but I can't find the other part.
