Eiger brake lever switch
#1
So I got a set of heated grips for Christmas and was installing them today. I removed the left front brake lever so I could get a look at one of the switches on my 06 Eiger...the one where the wiring runs along the handlebars. I wanted to remove it, to make mounting the grip heater control easier. After installing everything and reinstalling the brake lever, it seems that the two limit switches may not be contacting the brake lever properly. What I need to know is when do you guys here the clicks from the electronics that limit when you can start the quad? If the brake is fully released, I hear the first click around 1/3 of the way through, then a second click around 2/3 of the way through the full squeeze of the brake lever. If I am in gear, I can't start it until I reach the first click and I can't start it once I am past the second click. Does this sound right? For some reason, I can't remember how it used to be and want to make sure that everything is installed back to normal. One last thing, there is a second switch (not the one I mentioned before) that is installed under the brake lever, where a little shaft on the brake lever contacts it and presses on it... does everyones always contact the metal part of the switch...I thought mine used to, but now it keeps popping off of the metal flap on the switch. I'll mess with it more tomorrow, but any help is appreciated...Thanks.
