Default 1976 Suzuki rm 125

ya ya ya I know it's not a atv but I didn't see any better place to post. I just bought a 1976 suzuki rm 125 at an auction today and I am looking for parts. If anybody knows somewhere besides dennis kirk and my local suzuki dealer please speak up. So far I took off the plastic and cleaned it. As of now all it needs is a new air filter which I can get easy. I need to take apart the carb and clean it and work on the brakes. The gas take has had a new paint job which looks like a 2yr old did with a paint brush in the middle of a dust storm it sucks. It does apear to be drained and rust free but I haven't examined it thouroly yet. Oh and I need a chain guard and I really guess should replace most if not all of the hoses on it they are pretty stiff because it has been in storage for many years. It doesn't appear to be ridden much some of the motorcycles at the sale where never sold at the dealership. The man just went around to little motorcycle shops when they were going out of buisiness and bought all there stock. The only reason he's selling out now is because he's getting a divorce. any help appreciated

Well I cleaned it up took off the fenders and since it's blowing about 35-40mph and and 32 degrees out I took them inside and washed them off in the bath tub. I then took a stiff brush and scrubbed the gas tank in the unheated brrr... garage with hot water and then dried it off so it wouldn't freeze. The gas tank is dry and it turns over like it would start if I put fuel in it. I am going to err on the side of caution though and take off the carb and clean it. The trassmission still has some fluid in it I'll drain and refill that sometime. It looks a lot better now I just have to get it running better. Also If anybody happens to know the fuel mixture i'd like to know I haven't found that yet. Maybe tommorrow i'll take apart the brakes and see if there shot. The back ones feel fine but I suspect the front ones are shot.

Well I got it running they had done every thing they were supposed to do, drained the fuel tank, and took off the carb and put oil in it. The only thing they didn't do was take off the air filter and plug it with a rag. I still have to take apart the brakes, get the carb ajusted and work on the points.

Ya I just found them last night they didn't have a sproket cover. I can't even find it on there diagrams. Yesterday I got the brakes working the cable needed a shot of WD- 40 at the top is all the front brakes just needed tightend. The rear axle was a little loose so I tighened that up. The only thing left is order an air filter today and take apart the clutch. The clutch plates are stuck together from not being used in so long. I will also have to take the carb somewhere to get adjusted I don't know how to mess with them. I found a good deal on a manuel and will order that today as well. All I need now is some warmer weather to fire her up and see what shes got for speed. hehehe.

Does anyone know how to wire in some headlights for this thing. I know none of them come with them and never did, but I want some and I know theres a way to do it. If they could do it for a blaster they can do it for this surely. I was looking at some lazer bright's they looked good now if I can just figure out how to mount them.

Well I got it running took it to a friend and he worked on the carb and added on a fuel filter just to be safe. I took it out yesterday and ran it up the road. I got it up to 4th gear and was flying and I lost my nerve it's got a lot of power for me. I started on a drz 110 and it was like a kitty toy but this thing is like ungodly powerful for me. I am going to have so much fun for this thing.

i don't think there is any way to add headlights to this bike unless you use a PE harness and stator, because there is no lighting coil built in the stator for them. You may possibly use a PE175 stator and harness on this bike, but I'm not sure, check it out before you buy anything. I have a 77 PE250 with a RM250 motor I modified to fit PE wiring so I had lights. The only downfall to this is the PE flywheel tames the RM motor alot. (not as pipey). But still will beat the pants off any PE250 in the world!!!!! If you can find any, my buddy has a 80 RM250 and can't outrun me and it's fresh too, thanks to gearing. He likes mine better cuz it's easy to control
