My 04 z400 needs new o rings in the water pump, you have to take the oil cover off to get to them, do i need to buy a new gasket for the oil cover, or can you use the old one, or is there even one in there?

You mean the clutch cover? And as a rule you NEVER reuse any gasket at all...... doing so only invites trouble. Gaskets are made to be used only once.

O-rings ?? if the water pump is leaking its not likely a o-ring more likely the mechanical seal is worn out .
there is a wright up on it ,but i get the fealing it may be a little over you head ,that is if you have never worked on a water pump.

I'm guessing you aren't working on it this late.

When I get back to my other work computer tomorrow, I'll see if I can hook up the link to the service manual.

From that, you'll be able to download the whole thing to your computer.

Finally.

LTZ 400 Service manual

It's a 47m file, so depending on your internet speed, it could take a while.
