Default 03 Vinson 4x4 fails

When I press the 4x4 button the indicator light switches on but the front tires don't spinn. No strange noise. I'm in neutral and tried reversing and forward. Never had an issue prior. I do have some ice build up under neath. I run the lakes and went through some slush a couple of days prior to this failing.
Could ice cause the 4x4 not to work? I have it in a warm shop now hoping ice was the problem

If the ice isn't the problem the try to shift it into 4x4 manualy. Remove the actuator from the diff. and see if it moves when the 4x4 button is pushed. Turn the nut the actuaor turns with a socket to engage the 4x4.

Thanks for the reply. I thawed the bike but I still does not engage.
Can you please shed some light as to how/where the actuator is? I take it that it's on the front diff.
Side note: When it was thawing out I heard a click when the 4x4 button was engaged but haven't heard anything since.

It's on the Diff. It has 2 sets of wires going to it. One for the light and the other is to make it shift. There are 2 bolts holding in on.

Update.......Was not frozen. Took the acuator off and cleaned the armiture. Carbon from the brushes caused the units failure. Works great now. Dealer would likely have installed new actuaor for 350.00 plus labour.....Payes to do things yourself.......
