Default 06 Suzuki Z400 questions

I bought a used z400 so I have a few questions. Should I get a new air filter? If so what kind? It was shipped so it doesnt have oil in it so what kind should I put in it and does it matter what kind of oil filter I put in it? Does the manual show you how to change the oil on it? I bought itp trac star tires, nerf bars with pegs (these pegs are MASSIVE WIDE!!) , swingarm, a-arm, and full body skid plates. Should I be able to put these on myself or should I take them to an atv shop? I'm ok with tools. Thanks for the help!

A lot of people will tell you to use a K&N air filter, but an engine builder told me to use an oiled foam filter. He said K&N filters were too course and will let dirt through and you will score your cyclinder/piston which leds to blue smoke coing out of your exhaust and excessive oil use. As far as oil goes there is a huge debate with many opinions. The one thing you need to know is, do NOT use an oil that has the "Energy Conserving" label on the back. Or any additives for that matter either. They have friction modifers that will cause your clutches to slip.
For a good oil try Shell Rotella T 15W-40 Multigrade.

Hope this helps.
