LT80 Problem
#1
Hey guys,
My daughter has an 05 LT80. I started it up a minute ago and rode it from the garage to the backyard to wash it. Ran fine. I pressure washed all the mud off and when I started it back up, it wouldnt go anywhere. It started fine, revved fine, but would barely move when I hit the throttle. Any ideas???? I use a 2000 psi power washer everytime we ride to clean them and never ran into this. Could I have damaged something washing it? Thanks in advance....Don

Sounds like a wet belt, there should be a drain bolt on the bottom to let out water, even a little on the belt lets it slide on the pulleys, my kids LT80 would sometimes do that after a run through a big puddle, rev it up with the back wheels off the ground and it will blow out and evaporate the water, then the belt will hook up. you should have a little chrome inspection cover that comes off with three bolts, look inside, I bet you see water.

Thank you, you were evidently correct. Went downstairs and started it up, and it ran fine-no more "slipping". I removed that cover and i didnt see water but I did see what looked like to be oil. Is that normal? Thanks for your help.

you were probably seeing moisture and belt dust mixed together, but the oil pump for the injector is run off the primary clutch drive, maybe a little leak there?
