Default Front Sprocket

Well i was just thinking, would an extra tooth on a front sprocket help reduce the infamous c.c.o.s. on my 230?

i mean, im running 13-41 on it now, and its nice, i like it, and i dont plan on changing it, but just for the hell of it, does front sprocket size have any effect?

I think a larger sprocket would make it worse. Although I doubt 1 tooth is going to make THAT big of a difference when you're risking a $150 mag cover.

I kinda like the 11/37 combo myself. The idea is to keep the chain as short as possible. Less chain weight = more power to the ground. Also, since the front sprocket is smaller, the friction of the chain means less to the engine. That's especially important if you're running an o-ring chain!

I have a 14 tooth front. I hated it. You can order it thru http://www.jlatvproducts.com/ You might have to call them.

remember 1 tooth on the front equals 3 teeth on the rear
1 tooth larger on the front will reduce low end torque and give you more top end speed
