Default 50 electrical problem

I have my neighbrs 2006 50cc suzuki quad. He brought it to me to see if I could get it started for him. I found no spark and later found the fuse blown under the seat. I did an amp draw test and its pulling over 15amps with nothing on.
I think the cdi is fried. He replaced the fuse before and thought he herd something sizzle. I have checked for obvious shorts such a bare wires etc.
I know I have seen atleast a couple of posts on here about the same thing.
Any help or schematic is greatly appreciated.

Default 80 electrical problem

Do a ohm test on the cdi and stator.
Your zuki dealer should be able to tell you the correct readings.

Default 80 electrical problem

Thanks for the reply. The local dealer simply said ( bring it in we can fix it ). They were no help at all.For them to fix it the labor and parts cost could be close to half of what this thing cost new. I am just trying to sabe them a few bucks. I guess I need to get a manual. I was just hoping of a common problem that might be an easy fix.
