Hi,
Just got this quad and am trying to get her running.The engine will turn over when starting, but does not want to catch. It has compression, fuel and spark. ( I checked these first.) Out of ideas short of spraying ether in the carb. HELP???

 

Update: I got it running by turning the starter for a few minutes and pumping the choke and gas. Not a very efficient way to start, but, at least i know she runs now. Looks like I need to rebuild the top end. It seems that the compression must be low to need so much grinding to get started.

Maybe a good carb cleaning is in order.

 

It has new gas. When I got it, it had almost no gas in it. I put half a tank in her and a bottle of stp gas treatment. It seems to be getting better the nore I run her. The main thing I noticed is that it is leaking a little oil onto the exhaust manifold. I am going to replace all the top end gaskets very soon. Thanks for all the help so far. If there is anything I have missed, please let me know.
