my z400 wont start or turn over like it wants to start. all i get is a clicking noise from under the seat from a little box that the battery's connected to. when i try to push start it it turned over one time then ran about 10 secs then cut right back off. now when you try to push start it the wheels just slide soon as you let up off the clutch and when i hit the start button i get nonthing but the click from under the seat. any help would be appreciated thanxxx n advance plz help me.

 

you probably have no battery power....the battery is dead most likely. if not that the started cylinoid could be bad. get a new battery first

 

not the battery i got strong lights and evrything else i took out the spark plug and i notice it won't get no spark

it is deffinatly an electrical problem. the starter cylinoin is clicking and you have no spark at the plug. i would say you need a wireing diagram and find out what the battery connects to, like a regulator or rectifier, that mighrt be bad.

 

i have found my rectifier how can i test to see if the problem is coming from there and would that keep it from not firing

 

Does it turn over with the plug out?

 

The rectifier is part of your charging system it may cause it not to run but when you push it it should turn over.If you send me your email address I will try to copy and paste the section on testing the rectifier.

 

thanks for every one who help. i found out what it was it was my starter motor. i took it a loose and my lead wire to my battery broke off in the inside so i was not getting no kind of connection. so i just mashed the wire to the lead wire in the starter to see what would happen and it crunk right up. so i know now i just got to solder that wire or buy a new starter. i think i will just get a new one tho but thanks you guys are the best i love this site Z400 4 LiFe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
